With only a few days left of 2016, it is now time to start getting ready for New Year’s Eve! We are lucky at 3801 Connecticut to be so close to many different New Year’s Eve celebrations! Whether you want to keep it low key or get all glitzed and glammed for the night, our area has something for everyone of all ages.
Want to end 2016 and start 2017 on a healthy note? Sign up for a local race! You can participate in the 10K, 5K or the 2k fun run/walk while helping to raise money and awareness for INOVA Life with Cancer. Another race that is happening on NYE is the Fairfax Four Miler. Get your run on and stay afterwards for a pizza party or to check out Old Town Fairfax. On New Year’s Day sign up for Fit DC Fresh Start 5K Walk/Run or New Year’s Resolution parkrun in College Park.
Is a dance party, a nice dinner, champagne and a big party more your jam for NYE? Get your sequined dress and gold tie out and choose from one of these closeby NYE parties at some of our favorite spots. For two of the area’s biggest parties, head over to the National Harbor. Gaylord National Resort will be hosting their Big Night DC event. Check out the newest attraction, MGM, for their New Year’s Eve celebrations! For something closer to home, Cleveland Park Bar & Grill will be having a drink and food package starting at 9p.m. for $60. Choose from either a 4-course or 5-course dinner at Ripple. If you want to avoid the cover charges then head down to Nanny O’Briens Pub where they’ll have a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.
However, if you are in need of a family-friendly NYE event, there are several options to ring in the New Year with the entire family. Take a short drive to Alexandria for First Night Alexandria! Events for First Night Alexandria will begin at 10am. Throughout the day you’ll have opportunities to take part in different activities, enjoy live entertainment and take a tour of George Washington Masonic Memorial. Of course the best part of the night happens close to midnight with live fireworks! However, if you don’t want to go more than a few blocks from home, take your family over to see the Christmas and holiday lights at Zoo Lights!
No matter what you do or where you go on New Year’s Eve, we hope you have a fun and safe evening and ringing in 2017 in a joyful and happy way! Happy New Years!
